![]() ![]() Due to his clone designation, he referred to himself as 'Fives.' Originally a clone cadet during the early phase of the pan-galactic conflict between the. His future appearances may help develop one of the most interesting aspects of The Bad Batch. The return of Captain Rex in Star Wars: The Bad Batch can finally give some much-needed closure for another Clone Wars character - Commander Cody. CT-5555 (short for CT-27-5555), and later referred to as ARC-5555, was an Advanced Recon Commando who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. But that doesn't mean the series is done with Echo. Echo's absence from the main team will help prevent future episodes from becoming overcrowded, allowing more room for the other team members to flourish and grow as the series goes on. However, there can be little doubt that a smaller cast makes for more focused and engaging storytelling. ![]() Both Season 2's opening two-parter and Episode 5, "Entombed," split up the Bad Batch to attempt to give each character a little more breathing room. "Faster" succeeded in telling a satisfying story that focused solely on Tech, while Hunter and Echo weren't even present.Ĭonversely, episodes have felt muddled and overly busy when trying to include all five active members of the Bad Batch. The following episode, "Faster," though radically different tonally and much more light-hearted, was also much lighter in its cast of characters. A fan-favorite episode in the first half of the season was Episode 3, " The Solitary Clone." This episode did away with Clone Force 99 altogether, instead focusing on their former-comrade-turned-Imperial, Crosshair. I’m not a big fan of packaging (especially for Black Series figures), but these are great if you still need these characters in your collection and/or you’re feeling nostalgic for the first Star Wars toys made after the original Kenner line.Įach figure will retail for $26.49 (ugh) and will available for preorder from Hasbro Pulse and of The Bad Batch Season 2's standout episodes have told smaller stories rather than trying to convey sweeping epics that involve the whole Batch. The final set of reveals are some rereleases featuring updated deco and old school Power of the Force cardbacks. Unfortunately, the figure’s retail price is listed as 31. It’s also priced significantly lower than the other figures ($22.99) and a Walgreens exclusive, who somehow makes their exclusive figures much easier to find than the ones at Walmart or Target. Normally, a weathered Captain Rex with a soft goods cloak that mirrors his appearance in the Bad Batch would be a no brainer. If you do, however, then these guys will go great with your Black Series Commander Cody. I don’t really have the money or space to build 6″ scale figures. This resulted in Cody expecting Order 66 and attempting to kill Obi-Wan Kenobi. Unfortunately, this one is also coming from Walmart, so it’s a crapshoot whether or not your preorder will actually go through. Unlike Captain Rex and the Bad Batch, he did not have his inhibitor chip removed. Combine that with the gorgeous looking armor, and the $26.49 retail price (or the $24.99 listed price) feels a bit more reasonable for an exclusive item. Crosshair (Imperial)Ĭrosshair looks even more intimidating and badass with his realistic facial portrait. The trailer first premiered on Disney+ and includes appearances by fan-favorite characters Captain Rex (Dee Bradley Baker) and Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid). I’m just not sure I’m ready to support that price point on a figure whose preorder has a decent chance of getting canceled anyway. A new trailer for Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 just dropped that boasts plenty of new and familiar faces. Yes, this version of Rex looks fantastic. It could just be a mistake, but even if the price is slightly lower, that’s still pretty expensive. Making matters worse if the fact that it’s a Walmart exclusive–although in their defense, they do have the figure’s price listed as $29.99 on the product page. Unfortunately, the figure’s retail price is listed as $31. Normally, a weathered Captain Rex with a soft goods cloak that mirrors his appearance in the Bad Batch would be a no brainer. Let’s take a look at this high priced wave and see if it’s worth the extra cash. The bad news is that they’re are all exclusives and cost even more than you’d expect.Įach figure is scheduled to go up for preorder this afternoon at 1:00 PM EDT from their respective retailers. The good news is that these all look really good. ![]() On Thursday, Hasbro followed up its surprise Vintage Collection box set reveal with some new figures for the 6″ scale Black Series line.
